Introducing - Anysha Pansear - Miss Teen Great Britain International 2012

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Anysha Pansear Miss Teen Great Britain International. She is such a positive bubbly young lady who has so much potential we thought she deserved a special mention in our blog.
Anysha initially competed in pageants to boost her confidence after enduring years of bullying at school. After entering Galaxy International in the US in 2010 as Miss Teen Europe Galaxy, she placed first runner up and was then asked to enter America’s PERFECT Teen in Orlando Florida later that month. It came as quite a shock when she was crowned the new America’s PERFECT Teen winning a fully paid scholarship to Broadcasting college in the USA and making her the very first international winner of a major US National pageant.
Anysha caused a worldwide media frenzy after winning her title, with appearances on US TV The Today Show, UK TV and Radio and articles and photos in The New York Times, The Times of India and front page of many UK magazines and newspapers.

Anysha has used her fame to help raise the profile of her charity, Bullies Out, where she is responsible for establishing mentoring schemes in schools for children both in the UK and the US.
During 2010 and 2011, Anysha travelled worldwide completing number of modelling assignments, while still studying for her A Level examinations in college.
Earlier this year she also became a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and she now has an AA Degree in Broadcast Media.
Anysha also works alongside her mother in running the very first PERFECT pageant to be run outside of the USA  i.e. Europe’s PERFECT and Little Miss PERFECT.
In 2012 Anysha also set up her own company called 'Crown Chicks' and the business gives support girls who wish to compete in pageants.
This ambitious young lady is not just a pretty face she is committed to helping others through her charity work, Crown Chicks and her anti-bullying campaigning.
As the current Miss Teen Great Britain International, Anysha also makes regular appearances and will compete at Internationals in Chicago in July 2012.

Top Swimwear Pageant Tips from Sandstorm.

Melissa Minter - British Model wears bikini by Paradizia available at SandstormLuxury.com

The thought of strutting your stuff in front of an audience in a swimsuit can be daunting prospect for many a pageant contestant.
The keys to success during this round in the pageant competition are: get the right swimsuit for you, prepare your body and practice your walk!
Having helped many pageant contestants win their crowns over the past four years we at Sandstorm Boutique would like to share our top tips with you:
The Swimsuit:It really is best not to leave this important purchase until the last minute – after all you’ll need to practice strutting your stuff long before the pageant date. We recommend you purchase your swimwear between 6 - 10 weeks prior to the pageant. Don’t forget if you are having your swimwear customized or if it is being shipped into your country (unfortunately customs can on occasions cause delay with deliveries) you need to allow enough time for yourself!
Ask yourself “does this swimsuit suit my figure, does it fit in all the right places, does it compliment my skin tone and hair colour, and also does it suit my personality”! There is no point wearing an item you feel uncomfortable wearing the judges will pick up on the vibe.
Be creative – if you see something you like and it’s not quite right for your body shape – have it altered professionally! Legs can be cut higher to make the legs appear longer and padding can be added to the bust and bottom which will creative the desired silhouette.
Some pageants state you must wear a specific colour – when this happens they usually have several styles available to suit various body shapes.
Tricks of the trade – use butt glue - it stops bottoms riding up and it can be used on the bikini top to hold the item in place. Also consider using panty liners to prevent camel toe!
Preparation is the key …….Don’t leave it until the last minute to get your body into swimwear condition. Begin your fitness routine well in advance of the competition. Mix cardiovascular with weightlifting to build muscle and to give you a good overall body tone – pay special attention to torso, buttocks and legs. Mix in some Pilates or yoga to your fitness routine as the key look to be successful is a long, toned and lean physique.
Ladies – don’t try to loose loads of weight quickly and go on a starvation diet - instead have a healthy balanced diet as a poor unhealthy diet will impact on your skin and hair and eyes etc…..
Important bits and bobs - fake tan should ideally be applied professionally – it is best not to have this done on the day of the pageant - sort out the colour you want to be in advance – there’s no point turning up looking orange or unrealistic. Ensure you are beach body ready in advance – you know what we mean ladies (whether you prefer to be plucked, shaved or waxed don’t leave it to the last minute you could end up with a nasty rash). Exfoliate and moisturize your skin all over, have a pedicure and go with French polish on toes.
Walk the walk! Practice, practice, practice walking to upbeat music in your swimsuit. In fact, put your whole look from top to toe together e.g. shoes, earrings, accessories, and sarong to be sure you are all co-ordinated. Practice walking in front of a long mirror and practice your poses and know which angles suit your body. Remember – smile!
Finally – your walk should be even paced, easy/smooth and swinging arms and very bouncing boobs should be kept to a minimum as they are distracting for the judges.

Swimwear Glue ideal for Pageants now available from Sandstorm Boutique

Swimsuit glue is designed to hold the edges of swimsuits in place while the wearer is  moving. Swimsuit glue is in our opinion very necessary for pageant contestants. Afterall no-one wants a contestant to get embarrassed or overexposed should her suit slips! If you think that swimsuit glue could help you with your swimsuit contest, then make sure you know how to use it so you get the best results.
Swimsuit glue is a strong adhesive that literally glues your suit to your body. It can also be used to hold the straps of evening gowns in place. Some types of glue are waterproof so that you can actually use it on the beach, while others can be removed with warm water and should only be used if you are not actually going to get your swimsuit wet.
A little word of warning - because these glues are literally glue, you could have an allergic reaction to them. Make sure that you test the glue on a small area of your body before putting using it to hold your suit in place.
NOTE: Many pageant contestants and judges alike say that using some type of adhesive to hold your swimsuit in place is a must if you are seriously competing in any type of beauty contest!
